I can get most of those sounds (shimmer/octave/glitchy lofi/modulation) outside of my delays. And I'm wondering if it's even necessary to have all of this...? I've got a kickass looper (boomerang), and a sweet delay coming (VMSD).

I had a DC Timeline and thought it sounded pretty sweet. And the turn around time is pretty quick from what I can tell.

I really enjoy all the options. At first, a little over whelming, but once I dug deep I started to get a better feel. The tons of presets make things really interesting. A lot of times I turn my amp on, I will just pick a random preset and start to create. I haven't had a delay need that it couldn't handle, well except for a really convincing analog delay. Still great imo.

I am surprised more people haven't said anything. Mine arrives on Wed. So don't listen to any the goo-goo coming out of mouth during the honeymoon. But it did seem useful enough to me. I play bass. I have been trying to reduce the amount of pedals that I own. Mainly because I have too many for my board, my board is 18x30, so it is pretty big. I have bought a 5 channel looper to make controlling everything smooth. Therefore the amount of things that the TL covers made it a no-brainer for me. The one thing is, I need to buy as Midi foot controller so I can make the most of the TL looper and switch settings without bending down. That makes it a $600 unit for me.
Also because I play bass, analog delay isn't crucial to me.

I sold my El Cap to pick up the TimeLine. It was a preorder though so I won't have mine for a good while

I bought the TimeLine because like everyone else said, it seems to be the last delay anyone will ever need. I just wanted more options than the Cap, even though the Cap sounded flawless

The only reason why I stopped singing praises for the TL was because I didn't want to come across as a Strymon fanboy anymore than I already do. It's at the top of my "Keeper Pedals" list. The only time I've had delay GAS, after I bought my El Cap a year and a half ago, was when the TL was revealed. Sold the Brigadier, kept the EC, bought a TL, and all is well.

Still want a small, simple, extremely limited delay for when I build a "grab and go" board for those more convenient outings, but I don't see my TL getting replaced any time soon.

But enough about me... since you can get all those sounds outside of your delays... maybe a delay pedal that has an fx loop, so you can get all those sounds inside your delay too? Or, if you don't need all those TL tones, just get a El Cap. From my experience, you can't loose with Strymon. I haven't tried the VMSD, but the El Cap was the reason why I got rid of my Superdelay. I'd still love to try the VMSD, because it always seemed more up my alley.

urrrrrrrrm....... i don't like delays on bass. barely ever used them. then a bud let me borrow his TL and i was hooked on it. it's a pretty amazing piece of kit. the amount of good sounds in there is very impressive. and it has SO much extra weird stuff in the backpage menus.

and i'm with Deltz. i don't really dig on analog delay with bass. turns too mushy too quick for me. LOVE this thing.

Yeah, I think basically half my board is going to be on the chopping block now for the Timeline.

I don't know if I could justify it. What's so good about the Timeline???? It's not like I have any BASS demos to listen to (God I'm subtle). Heh. Excane is the man, and I can't wait to hear them! I've pestered the shit out of him too! I would TOTALLY buy one of these if I had the scratch. I'll eventually get one, and then eventually flip it. You guys know how it is.
