Synthish Filters Help

I play bass. I plan on using the filter with a MXR BOD (octaver), Mountainking Magnetar, and maybe a PitchFactor.
With the Magnetar I am looking for a mean electro tone. With the PitchFactor I am going for more of pads type of sound. Magnetar into PitchFactor...who knows?
I have absolutely no use for a funky filter. I want the ability to sweep up and down, fast or slow. Expression pedal hell yeah!
I have had a Xerograph DLX in the past, I know it is rad. I could get a Robot Factory PhoTron for a REALLY good price. It is based off of the Korg MS-20's filter plus it has a few extra's. http://martoneaudio.com/PhoTron.htm

My other ideas are a Moog MF101. I don't care about the bypass because I will use it in a 5 channel looper.

What about a Bass MURF? Any slick ways to use it besides step sequencing?

The other idea is a Dave Smith Mopho. I know I couldn't use all of it's features with this set-up but I may eventually use a Bass to MIDI converter.

Thoughts?

Hmm, by "funky" I'm guessing you mean auto??? Are you looking to just sweep the freq up and down??? The Moog is the MOST Synth Filter made as it's an analog LPF... There are several MS20 type filters out there but they are not really voiced for Bass and can be a lil harsher... The Mopho is cool but I'm not sure why you would need a Midi converter??? You would need a Midi exp pedal and just plug into the Mopho, I do the same with my Evolver... What kinda sounds do you want to make???

By the bass to midi converter I meant to maybe eventually use the Mopho as my synth sounds in the future. The Mopho could maybe get a lot longer use that way.
I called Dave Smith Instruments. So I could have 4 16 step sequencers each one is attached to an oscillator or sub oscillator, but they can't be chained.
I have used LPFs in the past, just not with these pedals.
The sounds I am after are big electro bass sounds, a few dirty leads, and some interesting pads.
I can also add that I plan to add a Timeline so that will probably be able to help with the pads.
I know octave down>gated fuzz>LPF is a nice dirty square wave.
The pitch factor can do more types of waves.

Yes the sequencers can actually be made to run ANY function on the Mopho... Did you see Oinkbanana's board on page 608 of the board thread??? He's using the Behringer FCB to control a synth it that manner... If you have to have it in pedal form I would say go big and get the Moog LPF cause the Murf really won't do what you are talking about... Otherwise get that Mopho and get yo Analogin On... :thumb:
