2:02 all choked sounding. What fuzz would you use to achieve this?

One of my all time favorite fuzz sounds right there. Ronald is a genius and I'm sure wasn't using a single pedal. I try to replicate that using a heavily gated fuzz but it's not quite right. I know he used an EH Microsynth, 7-9 Boss SE-50's, and 2 Eventide Ultraharmonizers. Not sure what other single pedals he might have had fuzz wise.
It's clearly a heavily gated fuzz, prolly more than one pedal though.

Fairfield Circuitry The Unpleasant Surprise sound similar to this.

i imagine a few devi ever pedals could pull this off very well, too.

My Devi Noise floor ZG (bright) can get really close to this in with noise and chaos turned off and a slight boost running into it. depending on the hawtnezz of your pickups you might not need a boost. Devi's doing custom order work again so you'd be able to have one made I imagine. To nail this tone I'd add some vibrato like a boss VB2 style or ya know a pitch pirate if ya got one.

He's using a fuzz and a ring modulator, I could approximate this sound with a gated fuzz
and the big box EHX Frequency Analyzer.

I'd combine a gated fuzz like a Devi Ok or something going into a high gain trebley [maybe oscillating] fuzz. A gated fuzz in which when the fuzz cuts out, you can still hear the clean guitar slightly afterwords. The high gain fuzz picks up that remaining clean signal and amplifies it. You get that fuzzy attack at first and then a high gain clean/oscillation/noise swash once the gated cuts.
That would be my strategy.

I need to get fuzzes, so I can finally try this.

if that's done with a ring mod, it must have had a wet/dry blend knob...i don't hear modulation on the long sustained notes before they break up, but it's possible that he could create the breakup with the ring mod by going from a single note to a double- or triple-stop. i've gotten almost the
reverse of that sound--breakup that decays to a relatively clean note--with the Unpleasant Surprise, but i don't know if it'll do what the guitar on the track does. maybe the FuzzHugger Phantom series (Ring, Arcade, et al.), which has some ring mod-esque settings, could work.

Isn't there something like a Goatkeeper / step tremolo type of thing in there somewhere?
And I think he uses a slide on some of those parts too.
