That sounds pretty killer. Reminds me of my Korean made Epiphone Casino (which I sold a while back), which is weird considering yours has humbuckers and the Casino has P-90s. I'd play pretty much any guitar that stays in tune, so that would be my only issue with this sucka. Been thinking about getting another hollow-body lately, but this might be a liiiiiiittle too far down the low-end side.
That said... all you need is a good song (or riff like the couple that you played) and you can use any goddamn guitar in the world. Plus there have been a few discussions lately about a good guitar or a good amp being more important... I tend to lean on the good amp side of the argument. Of course this $150 beauty will sound great through a vintage Bassman!

I'd like to hear p-90s in this thing.
The guitar does stay in tune. It's just usually the next day it's out of tune. It's a slow gradual detuning. The good news is the tuners look to be a standard format and would be easy to change.
As far as good guitar vs good amp: It's totally subjective. I say get the coolest looking guitar or amp to you. What ever makes you want to play it. Because the more you play, the more you'll figure out what you like.
Lately I've been going nuts buying old crappy amps and guitars on eBay. There are some real gems out there. I don't hear a difference in quality between a $1500 amp vs a $75 amp. I hear a difference in tone.
That's my 2 cents.

Thanks. I've been buying a ton of stuff under the proviso that I will make demo/review videos for them. That way I can delude myself into thinking that it's for "business" and not for my gear addiction. I just did another one yesterday for this awesome guyatone.

Again, nice one.
I love those old Japanese guitars. They've got tonal characteristics and a charm all their own.

Sweet guitar! The neck pickup sounds uncharacteristically bright
I have a kent that's really similar to your guyatone, same guard material, same pickups, same color- they're cool guitars.

I like the two lightswitches at the bottom. One for on and one for off I suppose?

Each switch corresponds to a pickup. On off. Yep.
