Pedal kills low end when engaged...Any remedies??

so I recently got this Muza FD900 reverb/delay. i really like it but i've noticed when u engage theres a significant loss of low end, even w/ the reverb and delay levels all the way down. its only noticeable when u send some bassy shit thru. does not sound nearly as full as when its not engaged.0
i was running line level stuff thru it, so i tried re-amping and matching the impedance to something like a guitar but no dice.
i would imagine that it would do the same thing running a bass thru it, but have no way to test.

am wondering if theres anything I can do to fundamentally fix this? I've read about changing caps and resistors but dont know the slightest thing about actually doing it.

would anybody be willing to take a look for me and see if they can fix??
any other ideas i could try on my own?

i'm not surprised that it does this, as i'm pretty postive the muza is a cheaply constructed pedal, but would totally be more useable for me if it didnt kill the low end at all.

spanks!~ :joy:

Bass boost and/or outboard equalization.

Yeah, I think you'll find post'll be more effective.

I don't think that changing capacitors is an option in the muza... It's a small unit with many functions, most likely SMD parts and no space on the board/in the enclosure... You'll probably be better off with an eq/bass booster.

Hmm...weird, but not really all that surprising. Mine has some issues when I try to use it in stereo mode. No loss of low-end though.
I know you set the mix levels all the way down, but have you also messed with the reverb tone control? It's on the lower part of the 2nd pot I think. I don't know why it would do anything with no reverb coming through, but maybe it's worth a try :idk:
Try using the bottom input and output instead of the top if you're just doing mono. If I use the top jacks, most of the delay options just mute the entire signal.

hmm good point schlatte. the boards gotta be packed.

i tried post eq. it kinda worked i think. the tonality is different but some of the low end is back. it was harder to a/b compare.

@achtane, ive read of different ppl getting units w/ different issues or no issues at all. some have said theres was hella noisey (mines not) and some have said theres was silent, etc. etc.. Muza prob doesn't have the best quality control and thats cool.

i tried turning all the knobs, tried switching the jacks. no dice again. i'm trying to use it in stereo w/ 2 different sources simultaneously, but the mono delays routing is kinda cramping my style...can't use reverse or any of the mono delays. :mope: dont understand whyyy they set it up that way, unless it was for processing power reasons, otherwisssssee its a pretty killer pedal

thanks for the suggestions all of you!

Every time I see a grygrx post, the Bassfuzz.com theme starts playing in my head and continues to do so throughout the entire reading of said post.
