monarch as rat replacement

Lovin' this pedal. It'll be replacing a stock rat in my rig and will be the sole dirt pedal. Sole pedal other than a tuner, really. (Though I've been toying with the idea of pulling my Hummingbird back out.) I play in a band with two songwriters so we trade off rhythm and lead duties on each other's songs. Most of the time I'm just playing guitar-amp but rely on the rat to cut through when doing solo's on the other dude's songs. I like the rat's half overdrive/half fuzz sorta sound but it's time to move on to something nicer.
I love the low end of the Monarch. The gearmann dude vid is just too awesome. Plus it seems to cop great fuzz tones at higher gain.
How does it perform in a band setting? Will it cut through the mix for leads?
Anything else EQD I should be giving my attention to before I pull the trigger?
It's stupid that I still haven't bought a Hoof...
