New Fuzzrocious Pedal Day...Broke Dick Peanut Gallery!!!
Hi Everybody!
Let me start off by saying I really hate doing reviews, but I feel compelled to write one on the NEW Fuzzrocious Broke Dick Peanut Gallery Preamp/OD because I really believe in this pedal.
I am posting this here because I really believe everybody needs to at least be exposed to this pedal!
This is Ryans' take on the Electronix Submarine
I had been in talks with Ryan since the inception of this and since he assured me it will blow the Submarine out of the water I went ahead and sold my Designer Submarine and trusted Ry on his word...
...and I am SO glad I did!!
I always ran my DS at the end of my chain and used it to fix my tone after running through my board. Well I was worried perhaps the BDPG might not work in the same manner, but to say that is an understatement is, well, an understatement!
It has more bottom than you could ever want and more highs than you could want so !!! And the mids are much more pronounced than the DS by a mile which makes me smile!
So just EQ-wise I think the BDPG simply blows the Sub out of the water. Anything you run into it, you can make sound much better, but wait, it gets much BETTER...
...the OD/Gain knob!!!
THIS is the big Eye Opener!!!
I have YET to find an OD pedal that I would ever use. NOTHING has ever come close for me personally and I've tried SO many! Well this is the 1st one that I actually like. It just sounds so natural to me. Such a wonderful break up! And with the tone knob you can dial just the right amount of bottom to make it really thump. And yet again, it gets better...
...it works WONDERFULLY with other pedals!!! Especially running it at the end of your chain. The break up of the OD just works MAGIC on other pedals!!! Running fuzz into this was just the most incredible surprise I could of hoped for!
And I'm not talking only just fuzz, oh no! For me it is the 1st pedal I've used after my Groove Regulator that just makes it sing. And after my EHX BMS??? Sweet Mother does it make that bad boy shine! I would of NEVER thought my Xerograph Deluxe could sound even more wicked, but running it into the BDPG? This isn't even right!!!
SO MANY firsts here! I just couldn't believe it! I was texting Ry like every 5 minutes freaking out!!!
And I LOVE my modulation and delay into it as well!
It really breathes new life into your pedals...it's like adding a new set of controls to your pedals. That's about the best way I can describe it. It just gives everything more definition. And with the gain and tone, you can accentuate whatever you want to cut through.
I hope to figure out how to record audio/video and post it sometime in the very near future. Hopefuly someone else who gets one can add their thoughts as well.
As far as my new always on tone goes, Gain at about 3:20 o'clock, volume 10:30, Tone 9:20 is the best, most natural sounding OD I've ever played through.
Endless thanks Ry, this really completed my sound. I can't believe how lively my sound is now. The Submarine was cool, but this...this is just IT!!! I also want to add that Ryan says this slays on guitar too!
P.S. I play a GK stack with a GK 1001 RBII head and Sansamp RPM. I also play passive basses.
