There was some talk about these things in the Johnny marr sig guit thread, and due to the life changing potential of this thing, I thought it deserved its own thread.

Here she is:

I've played an AVRI jag for almost 10 years (as pictured in my avatar). The arm sockets always get loose.

I discovered you could buy replacements at http://www.guitarpartsresource.com/hardware_other.html, which would last a while before getting loose again, or having the claw break from constatly taking the arm off and on.

When I read about the marr guitar I lost my shit. ILF assisted me to find the purp and blam!

I've ebayed one, and it's just arrived. :!!!:

I'll put it on tonight.

WhHo esle has one?

I just ordered one today off the 'bay.

So looks like they do ship international. The set up on my MIJ jag is broken from years past. gonna be awesome to finally be able to use the trem on both my jags :)

I just took some pliers and bent my old tremolo bar slightly on the end. The added friction from that slight angleing seemed to do the trick.

I have one on my MIJ Jaguar and I have another set waiting for my incoming Jaguar as well. It works exactly as described, plus the ability to let the bar stay in place rather than swing back down makes it that much more useful to me. It's awesome! But could be cheaper for sure.

Plus it looks like AVRI and Classic Player Units are back ordered. So I'll probably just use plumbers tape for my CP. Still I'm so excited for this. I've been trying to think of a proper way to address this problem for ages.

I got one for my Douglas Corvis 627. The added length of the bar under the bridge actually bottomed out in the trem cavity too easily. I drilled a hole another cm deep in the trem cavity, ground down the bottom of the stay-trem with an angle grinder, and widened the hole to bring the screw closer to the plate. All that bought me another 1.5 cm or so, which was just enough. The body might be thinner than a Fender, but know that it could be a problem with some copies.

It works great now, though!

interesting!

I just put a small kink in the short bend on my JM's - and the zip tie mod and have no issues.
