For real. At almost two grand there are quite a few cheaper alternatives.

I'd settle for bringing back something like the Venus XII, which was hideous to look at but got some basic components of that sound very right.

Almost bought an original Lake Placid blue one back in the ‘70s
It was a choice between that or a Jazz bass, both costing a whopping $295.
I picked the Jazz with no regrets.
