I'm sure there have been topics on this before, but. What do I need to do to the enclosure/ what kind of paints should I use to paint my pedal? Also, any do's don'ts, things like that. Thanks

Not really glossy, just painted, ya know?
I was told to sand it with 200 grit sand paper, and then just prime and paint?

prime is the key. many people forget this. i dont sand most of the time, just prime, paint, decal, clearcoat.

Rustoleum works fine. Primer definitely helps. If the enclosure is kinda shiny, it may help to sand it a bit, but the primer should be plenty.
If you get a cheap toaster oven (never one you eat out of), baking helps quite a bit. A heat lamp would work as well. If you have a pet lizard or something, tell it to take one for the team!

Thanks. I primed the enclosure yesterday, and I do have a desk light, so I put that really close to the enclosure while it was drying, since I don't have a heat lamp. Also it took about 4 coats of primer to prime it all the way, is that normal? Also for the clear coat is there anything I should know. I've done it before and it turned out fine, but any ways to improve upon it would be awesome.

baking also helps. either with a dumpstered toaster oven or what I do, put it in front of one of those little floor heater fans. the alu will absorb the heat and it will be too hot to the touch in no time!
