Maschine Users Chime In!

Well Musicians Friend is having a 15% off sale and I want a drum machine and was looking at the Maschine Mikro for that. I'm looking for something that's versatile and intuitive, something that's pretty easy to learn.

I'd be using it mostly for programming drums for my doomy/noisy/whatever music. Also would probably experiment with more electronic things as well.

It'd be a little under $300, so should I buy it?

Have any clips of how you use yours?

nooooooot realllllllllly. well, there's a cheesy drum loop in this........

[soundcloud]http://soundcloud.com/behndy/sex-accident-01[/soundcloud]

...... but that was more to play with the Timeline (it's just the drum loop and a single track of bass through a TL).

i'm mostly using it for fun stuff right now, i can put together some bits in a few if you want.

the neat thing about it is the samples that ship with it are GOOD, there's a lot of patterns from interesting artists like Amon Tobin and then some more straight-forward stuff to build off/get ideas from, the interface is JUST like a good drum machine, but with all the awesome of soft-synth. very cool package.

Yo, I preached it to Behndy. I have never used anything more intuitive, it is one of it's selling points. I don't have the mikro though. The software is awesome. You'll probably get some free soft synths from NI with the Maschine. Here are some beats I did with it. Some of these tracks were from some rappers, some are just for me. If you don't like something go to the next track, hell you might not like any of it. http://deltaphoenix.bandcamp.com/
It is cool to learn how to sample and chop stuff.
I hate reading manuals, but it helps to read it.
There is an online community, Maschine Music. Mostly Hip Hop peeps but some real helpful and knowledgable people over ther.

I've been thinking about getting one for a while. Think i might pull the trigger on it because it looks so dam intuative. The Native instruments library that comes with it is a big plus for me too. Love nearly all of their VSTs,

Do It! I really like everything that I have used by NI. I have Massive, Stuff in Reaktor, Kore, Kontact, I should at least get Elements if not Komplete. I have played around with their DJ stuff too. I have a NI Audio Interface for my Computer. A lot of thought goes into their products. I have downloaded 6 or 7 updates for Maschine, so they have been working to make it better and better. NI will give you stuff for Christmas and good discounts on programs too. They take care of their customers. I could see myself sticking with them for a long time.

shit. the give away Elements for ANYthing. ask them how their daughter's doing? here's a copy of Elements. and how their Mom's doing? here's a free copy of Elements. ank them if you have to switch condoms between a grrL and her grandma or if Generational Similarities protects them? here's a free copy of Elements.

yeah. i went with a Maschine because Delta was such a gusher about it and because i've always loved Battery and Kontact. right now i have the Maschine library and Komplete and it's WAY more than i need, all awesome.

and, like, a dozen downloads for Elements.
