I know some dudes who actually write out oscillator knob settings as tabs as a sort of semi-planned performance piece or to remember how to get certain sounds. I don't think I ever could...

I second A tuning of some kind, if only cause that's what Sunn O))) use and they're nothing if not obsessed with Earth.

I actually don't think it's quite that low. It might be in C standard or a bit above C even. A lot of the time he's in D standard, I think.

I've done that with my 655 before. Thing with that is...you can put the knobs in the same place but it's still not going to sound exactly the same.

Drop Q...no but seriously, if they are only tuning down to C they're getting a huge sound. Whenever I drop to C it just sounds like shitty 90s alt metal.

It's all the way you play I guess. Nadja uses an Open C tuning and they have a sound denser than molasses.
