Just curious if there are any obscure bands/singers that your particularly fond of that are almost like a guilty pleaure?

One of mine would have to be Lenny Kravitz. I honestly think he is my generations Hendrix as far as the music he writes. He's like a continuation of the rock/blues fusion from the 60's.

The super cheesy, often Engrish lyrics combined with the SUPER cheesy synths makes it great though.
There's really only a handful people involved in making it, but they go by a ton of pseudonyms. There are a lot of instances of "bazooka" in song titles for some mysterious reason.

Justin Timberlake....post nsync. Fuck, he's just so fucking good. FutureSex/LoveSounds is one of my desert island discs.

Pretty much all modern pop music. The production is ridiculous.

I kinda missed the part of the OP where it said guilty pleasure. I just meant that rap/hip-hop certainly isn't my "standard preference". I can't stand 99% of it. But Tribe is fucking awesome.

Maybe in that most of her music is more pop/rnb or whatever than most things I usually listen to, but not a guilty pleasure because there is zero embarassment, this is just great music. I don't really understand the idea of 'guilty pleasures', because if I like music, I stand behind that.

Yeah, I don't think it was necessarily things you're embarrassed about. And Tribe is fucking awesome.


but for something a bit more "guilty," I think The Black Parade is a rather good album.

Nickle Creek's self titled album still happens to be one of those albums I can listen to whenever and wherever and feel a whole lot better afterwards.

I don't have any guilty pleasures. I really do listen to everything but pop. :\
