TGP Hype Machine Does It Again! (shady builder content)

WTF is going on over there, it's like a nasty virus running amok?!?!? First Freekish (resold Joyo as their own), then Farndurk (took customer $$, gave nothing in return) and now Tone Monk??
Seems Tone Monk guy convinced Madbean to sell him a bunch o' discounted Klon Klone pcbs under the guise of offering a beginner class teaching DIY pedal skillz. Madbean was happy to support and offered to help advise students, gave 50% discount, was paid appropriately, yet never heard anything about the class? It should also be noted that Madbean (unlike GGG or BYOC) explicitly forbids using his stuff in any commercial product.
Welp, according to FSB and Madbean, turns out Tone Monk simply used said PCBs in his Phoenix pedal, goop'd the shit, and sold 'em for around $300. Not sure if the layout was identical to Madbean's or if something was altered, haven't read that deep, a pricey Klon Klone Klone is what I took from it.
We've got it so good at ILF. Graced with a group of the most innovative/creative builders anywhere on the webz, a friendly bunch of individuals who exhibit morals, honesty, and pure awesomeness! When you have a forum full of lawyers, dentists, and CEO types, I guess it makes sense that some piece of shit builders are cultivated...

Holy carp! That is some shady shizz indeed... at least we're honest & up front in our Klon Klone thread! (and want crazy non-Klon options like oscillation & whatnot from the final product)

weird. i think i met that tone monk guy when i worked at that pedal shop. smoked like a chimney and was pretty much a tweaked hippy type.
seemed like a nice enough dude. that's some shit, though.

Holy shit... those crazy overdrive tube warmth dumble crystal lettuce guys over there are getting fucked pretty regularly.. But I don't get how anybody could do stuff like that... I mean.. betray fellow musicians... I for myself, as a student without gigantic amounts of money, struggle to get the gear I like and want and those guys are just selling their stupid fake shit to musicians that think they get a hair of gods ballsack in a box... How can you do that?

it's the idea of mojo.
you pay extra money for the mojo. simple as that.
you are all about looking cooler than the next guy. your stuff is more expensive.
i've been a pretty active member there, and it's funny how if it isn't over 200 bucks, it's not a worthy pedal.
even the cheap pedal threads there get shit on by it's members.
ask for a low-cost alternative HERE (or in the Devi forums RIP) and you get that, ask for it there, you get nothing under 150, and that's considered cheap.

Seriously we do have it great. So glad I found this place.
My board is going to be almost completely ILF sooner or later...
I love talking to these builders and realizing they are actually people you can trust.
So to Ryan, Brian, Kyle et all (the rest of you will be getting emails/orders soon enough)...thanks!
As for the Tone Monks and Freekish Blues of the world, the internet is too small a place to be fucking around like this. People in these communities are very vocal, how do they think they're going to get away with this stuff?
