Tell me I'm not insane (Or that I am)

I had an EHX Little Big Muff Pi a while back, and i could never bond with it. I went into guitar center and A/Bed it with a full-size NYC RI and damn if the Full-size didn't sound better to me on the same settings.

I can't possibly be the only one to hear this, can I?

I think I remember reading that a few of the resistors are different, so the tone is naturally changed. The low/high pass on the tone circuit might be a little different as well.

We're talking about two bad pedals here, so I woulda scrapped them both

Blasphemy! The NYC reissues aren't bad at all (For guitar and noise anyway. I will concede, they're shit with bass.), especially when you factor in that you can score them all day on CL for $40. :idk:

I agree....with a few easy and cheap mods you have one cool fuzz box!

Call me insane, but when it comes to the muffs that Ehx is currently producing, I actually love the double muff. Next time you are at GC, I would throw that bad boy into the equation as well.

I love my Big Muff Pi w/ Tone Wicker, honestly. I don't understand the EHX hate.

Some of there stuff right now is rather silly, but honestly, i like the BMP, it sounds great with guitar, which is waht i use it with, and i like that. :idk:

No hate here, just preference. IT was my first fuzz a long ass time ago and I even hated the pedal then. I'll try it out again though.

They're not the same circuit, yo. The current NYC is a little weird, as far as Muffs go. I kinda dig it, but it takes a couple of mods to really get it sounding awesome.

I want to add in a feedback loop from jumping a couple of transistors, personally. You can also swap some resistors to get tone changes. I've been considering rigging up some resistors on rotary knobs to do tone changes to mine.

There's a good guide here.

More cool tweaks and mods here.
