Yeah, I agree with the other forum, I'm pretty sure the Apollo is just a re-badged Shin-Ei Fuzz-wah. That is a cool fucking beast. The fuzz circuit is the Shin Ei FY-2 (companion, fuzz box, etc) that gets quite a bit of love out there. I don't know exactly what wah circuit they used, but that is a classic fucking pedal. It should fetch somewhere in the 200s, I would think, maybe 300 for a minty one.

if it looks like this ... it's the Tr6 and has a FY-2 inside

If it looks like this, it's a Tr8 and has a Super-Fuzz inside

Built by Shin-ei. The wah is kinda crappy in those, but the fuzz is awesome.

There's also another one with the knobs on top I've never actually seen IRL but I think that one has a super-fuzz inside too.

here she is. not really my thing so it will be going on ebay soon. its dirty but will clean up nice, i just prefer the patina myself. makes it seem more vintage to me.

yeah, that's the FY-2-based one. I actually like the FY-2 more than the FY-6, but I'm weird like that.

so you think it will bring over 200 fairly easy? clean it up or leave it the way it is?

I wouldn't say easily, but it could. Typically the super fuzz circuits go for more. That's jut from my observations over the last couple years. Anyone is free to correct me.

hey I just read your PM/

yeah, its the 6 transistor one that is a little less desireable, and thats really just because of the volume drop.
but it sounds awesome! and really huge at loud volumes.
Its like a giant fuzz brick being thrown at your face. :!!!:

there was a while not too long ago that they only went for about $100. but now they have jumped up a little.
I would expect between $125 and $150.
If you get $200 I would be surprised actually.

I got one of these today (the tr-8 super fuzz version)

The fuzz is amazing... I love everything about it, but I get such a volume loss when the fuzz is on (like volume cut in 1/2)... Does anyone know of a way to cure this? I'm hoping it's just my practice amp because when I first got my hoof fuzz, I couldnt use it with the practice amp because it was such a volume BOOST... But then threw my live amp ('59 bassman RI) it evened out and was usable. So hopefully this one is louder through a better amp.

But I'm afraid it's lacking enough volume where this might be an issue.
