I actually like phasers better than flangers. I'm glad you started this thread, BlindtoFaith. Thanks.

I like the EHX/Sovtek approach to phasers but I also LOVE the vintage MXR and Ibanez circuits. I wish the Sovtek did not have such a volume drop.

Or else I would have kept mine. Would look awesome next to my tall font(when it comes in today!)
As for the phasers that I currently own.....the Whetstone and Faye Sing are pretty much tied in my book.
I was running the Faye into my Wow and Flutter lastnight and it just blew me away. I have not even had a chance to use it in manual mode with an expression pedal. I guess when I do that the Faye wiill take the lead!
The Ibanez there is really cool too. Gets nice and slow and pretty fast. great basic phaser that sounds awesome clean and dirty. I will hold on to it! My bro in law found it broken in a shop for 20 bucks. He bought it for me thinking that I could trouble shoot it but it was too much for me. After a few bucks to eatyourguitar it is in great shape. He even added a 9v tap to it in the same spot as the old weird 8 pin thing it origannly had. Turns out this pedal is pretty damn rare too. SCORE!

This is the perfect thread to express my love for this guy... seriously one of the most versatile phasers at the lowest price you can get. It may have some clicking when bypassed, but if you have a true-bypass loop this can be a killer tool. Triangle, Square Wave, and Saw tooth (aka ring mod mode) wave shapes. Speed, depth, manual, and feedback knobs. The mode switch is pretty rad, if you have a triangle wave and use modes 2 or 3 the wave isn't perfectly triangular. There's a little flub-wub at the end of each wave that sounds awesome with a synthy fuzz. The Ring modulation can oscillate as well which is fun to drone with.

It's a bit overwhelming at some times, but it's great fortweaking the phase sound to go with all the fuzzes I switch on and off my board.

The Faye Sing recently replaced my Whetstone. Both are badass but the FS was smaller AND has a Blend control AND expression so....
Ken hooked it up with the Blue Hammerite too

, the one and only Faye Sing with that finish because it's apparently a HUGE pain in the ass to file the notches without damaging. Come to think of it, Hammerite was recently discontinued on all Infanem wares so cherish those Second Voices and Harmony Synths that got the shit!

Boss PH-2
The oldest pedal on my board by far (11 years I think?), and the go-to phaser for me. Tried a Phase 90, Faye Sing, Crystal Dagger...none of them can unseat the PH-2, for which I had a gain boost mod done, and while it makes it a bit noisier, you don't really notice it when you are playing.

I had some cool phasers - Maxon PH350, DNA Analogic Blue Lagoon (Bi-Phase clone), Subdecay Quasar. But I ended up with HBE Pcilosybe. It's the best phaser for bass I tried. All other phasers I tried had problems with low frequencies and there was a very little phasing effect. But Pcilosybe works perfectly all the way to the lower B. And it sounds sooo sweet!
But the best phaser IMO is the Moog 12-stage phaser. I had for a few days and it's just a killer. It's huge and expensive like all Moogs but impossible to beat in sound and versatility.
I've never tried Faye Sing or Whetstone though.

My baby:

It's my phazor of choice and I always use it with at least one distortion/boost/fuzz pedal on, so the volume drop is not a problem.

fuck yes, my favourite... the only Boss i've tried that had some distinguishible character
i'm pretty happy with my tall font Sovtek Small Stone, but it's been kind of a love/uncertain relationship lately.
i mean i love the thing, it sounds pretty unique if you ask me... but sometimes i'm wondering whether i shouldn't sell it an try to get my hands on a used Whetstone

or trade it with some extra cash... because even though i can imagine buying another phaser (because it's my favourite modulation), i can't imagine buying another phaser for more than $200
if only someone could guarantee me that i can get the Colour-switch-up-superphased-deep-space-exploring sound...
