Orange Thunder 30 vs. Dual Terror (or Dark vs. Tiny)

considering getting a TH30 or Dual Terror.
TH30 is more expensive, but has a nice clean channel, effects loop and orange head shell.
Dual Terror comes with a gigbag I would probably never use.
from what I understand, the TH30's dirty channel is pretty similar to the Dark Terror? lot of gain.
I have fuzz pedals, so I don't really need the brutal gain of the TH30, but it seems to be overall more versatile than the Dual Terror?
anyone have any opinions?

Haven't tried any of the above models but owned a 6V6 Rockerverb 50. Cleans sounded good but minimal headroom before breakup which sucked. Also, that amp hated pedals for some reason, lots of noise with dirt and mushy/distant results with mod and delay, total deal breaker for me. The effects loop was absolute shit but I hear it's since been improved. The high gain was pretty awesome sounding, more gain than I'd ever use really, but mean as fuck.
Another thing to note is the shabby build quality on most modern Orange amps. Google some recent Orange guts and behold the cheap ass construction in relation to cost. Way overpriced for what you're getting imo.
I'd recommend trying amps out with YOUR pedals and see what you think. GC or Eddie's probably has/will have the models you're considering....

looks like Eddies or David's Guitar Loft probably have them in stock, so maybe I can try them out. I didn't realize they had so many local dealers.
I did see several threads around the web about people having issues with the terror amps. I wonder what percentage really have problems...

i had two Rockerverb 50 v1s at one point, one to serve as a backup if something went wrong with the other. most of the time, both had problems. When working, I loved both channels on that amp, but one of the amps always sounded off. Reliability nightmares.

The simple fact is that higher-end Orange amps blow the terrors out of the water on everything but price.
As for the Dual Terror, you're basically paying a few hundred dollars more than the Tiny Terror for an effects loop and a second channel. Dunno if that's worth it to you, but once you start approaching the $1000 range you might as well just save up for a really nice Orange.

wow, there are tons of problem threads about the Thunder 30 on the orange forum.
I should probably just scrap this idea.

tiny terror also sounds more like the AD series than the rockerverb/thunderverb stuff.

Got a regular Tiny Terror, it's a pretty sweet home practice amp. It certainly takes fuzz and effects well. Haven't had any issues during nearly three years of playing it regularly. I got it as somewhat of a throw in with an Orange cab, but for the money there are far better options out there.

Jet City is maybe supposedly rumored to perhaps be releasing some kinda Orange based amp at NAMM.
Their other amps are pretty sweet, I've got hopes.
