Building a Cab?

So, as some of you may know, i use an old vox valvetronix 1x8 combo that i've converted for use as a cab.

Let's face it, it's shite. It's a crappy MIC speaker that doesn't even have a "VOX Special Design" sticker or whatnot.

Therefore, i must build a cab.

So, the parts:

Woods?
Speakers?
Jacks?
Grille?
Tolex?

Where should i start? I kinda wanted a 2x12, i don't actually need the second speaker, but if i ever get a bigger head i will.

And here, we, go!

You can buy pre made speaker cabinet enclosures from a few different companies, Weber I think, and Avatar, I'd do that, because a high quality cabinet will last forever and you can swap out speakers for whatever you want, and wire it as you wish. That's what I would do. But You could also make a trip to Home Depot and have them cut the pieces for you, and do it yourslef.

i have been wanting to build myself a 1x15 cab to replace my Lopo Line 2x12 closed back cab. The only thing that i see being a pain in the ass is laying the tolex down.

Lopo line sells a lot of the parts you will need.

Do you have time and money to put into this? Do you have tools? It's not as cheap an easy as it may seem. Do you have a design in mind you want to mimic? Don't just make up some dimensions, and start nailing plywood together...you could, but you want it to sound good right?

You might want to check out fearful cab builds (I think that is what they are called). When I was trolling the TB they talked about them all the time.
