Pedal idea.

Okay so before I go any further I should say this idea is kind of "tongue in cheek". I am maybe half serious.
Anyway though it would probably be totally useless I thought it would be a funny idea to have a pedal that would generate arpeggios or octaves or whatever based upon any note played.
You could vary the speed of the following notes (i guess it would be a sort of modulating delay?)
The name is the best part. "The Yodeler". Essentially a pedal that makes your guitar sound like it's yodeling. Haha!
Hopefully atleast one other person finds it funny.
....okay I will stick to building guitars....

I saw some kinda arp pedal on youtube the other day....think ot was a line6...maybe?

Run that through something like a vocoder or the EHX Voicebox...that might do it...

Or ya know...you could just take up yodalling?

I have definitely heard stories of at least a few builders that came up with their pedals name first and then designed the circuit off of the name! I think the yodeler could become a reality if it used some kind of sequencer/arpeggiator thing based on whatever note you played. I picture it being something like the Boss Slicer...but more "yodel"y.

Yeah on second thought, what if you just used a delay with a flanger after it?

The best part is, this isn't even a sound I would ever use. I think I just thought of the name and the rest came after. I think of the sound of the yodeling game from the price is right and try to imagine a pedal doing that to a guitar. Still makes me smile!

^Since you are more into making guitars why not make my dream of a trem bar/expression controller, a reality?
Basically a trem bar that acts as an expression pedal.

a whammy pedal with a midpoint as the basic setting allowing for tremming above and below?

well yodelling is a combination of small vibrato and octaves so... decent vibrato + whammy octave.

anyone wanna experiment? ill try to do something over the weekend

More like a bar that is in the same position on the guitar as a trem bar would be but it would have it's own output that you could connect to any pedal with an expression jack.
EX: If you had a Phaser with a expression jack to control the speed you would be able to use this "trem bar" to control the speed as you would with an expression pedal.

This sounds like the type of pedal I would use every day. I love the idea.

this sounds like the coolest idea. more fluid than using your foot.

Exactly! It doesn't seem like it would be all that hard to do either. :idk:
