wooden shjips fuzz?

i've been loving the new album "west." i havent listened to older stuff yet. anyone know where he's getting that fuzz tone that's so consistent on the album.
all i could really find was older interviews where he said he uses a MXR distortion + ...is that what a distortion + sound like?

That and a klon, its basically the same setup he uses in moon duo.

he uses a Big Muff in the studio sometimes, but yeah, a lot of Ripley's thing is vintage Distortion+ into a Klon into a BIG, CRANKED Fender amp.
you should check out his other band Moon Duo as well.

he also uses a Teese wah, a Phase 100, a big box DMM, and a Boss RC20XL.

I thought that it was that boss space echo twin pedal not the rc-20?

nope, he uses an RC-20. I've always wondered how much he uses it with Shjips, but with Moon Duo he loops quite a bit.

Distortion +'s are actually pretty sweet pedals. I almost got rid of mine, but then I found an awesome borderline fuzzy spot on it that just sounds killer
