Okay fuzzheads (and bassists) alike, let's go.
I personally like fuzz -> octave, but both ways are fun.
What's your favs?
..this is another one of those "Oh hey, I should just get a Pitchfactor" things, I know. But humor me!
And just to be clear, we're talking octave DOWN.

Octamizer was my favorite stand alone pedal, the M9/5/13 one is surprisingly good.
and i dig on fuzz -> octave too.
GET A FUCKING PITCH FACTOR ALREADY.

Octave Multiplexer->Swollen Pickle was fun. So was Blue Box->GE Overdrive.
...fun fact, if you try these combos on a bass amp in GC, they will ask you to leave.

OD > Octave > Fuzz for me.

I really didn't like the octave on the Pitchfactor, MXR, or OC-2. I actually have given up on an octave down for the time being. I really liked the Second Voice though and want the second version.

I love the glitchy octaves I get from the harmony synth, with the filter and fuzz all the way down. Recently got an oc2 that is cool, but I could see it not being for everyone. I like mediocre analog tracking.
The mxr octave deluxe is really nice. I keep trying to pick one up. Been holding off though cause I'm building a pearl octaver clone (1&2 down, 1 up, clean) that I'm hoping stands up.

Are you doing the Madbean Pearl Octaver thingy Jero? If so, could you tell me what you think of it when it's done? I'm pretty curious about that one.
I think a Second Voice may be my next pedlul.

Definitely OC-2->Fuzz->Bass Envelope Filter.
I've been thinking about replacing my old MIJ ACA Octave"r" with a newer MIT PSA Octave. I detect a little bit of a volume drop on the old OC-2 and the switch is getting worn out that I can never step on the treadle and reliably get the thing to activate.
I could always just replace the switch and see if it's moddable to fix the volume dump,...or put a clean boost or overdrive in front of it.
Something about modding a 30 year old reddish brown MIJ OC-2 though.
The OC-2 has the sound I want though for those synthy bass lines and the glitch due to lousy tracking is part of the appeal.

If you're really attatched to it you could just leave it and a booster on and put them in a bypass loop so you can turn them both on at the same time/reliably.

That's why I like the Vox Octavoice.
Octavoice > (fuzz) > ring mod. (set to trem) > analog delay

Maybe the OC-2 I had was defective? The pedal sounded like shit to me. The Octave sound was ok I guess, but the pedal was a bit noisy and finicky. The Pitchfactor tracks a thousand times better than the OC-2 or the MXR, but I didn't like many of the other settings on the Pitchfactor. Some were cool but not THAT cool. I'm a picky bastard I guess. I want the world. lol
I want to try the Octamizer because my main man B likes it so much. Makes me think I have to try it. Also want to try the Copilot octave pedal. It's cheap and the demos I've heard have all been good.
