lowest gain OD

Just like the title says. A lot of overdrive pedals I've tried, I end up never using the gain past 8 or 9 o clock. I'd like a really low gain OD where I would be able to use the entire range from minimum to maximum, but still staying within the low gain realm. Right now I'm using a VFE Pale Horse, as well as a DOD 250 Yellow reissue, both of which I'm getting decent tones with, but again, can't get the gain knob past 8 without going into too much distortion territory. And I've already adjusted the internal control on the VFE to set for the lowest gain, which improved things a bit, but still.

Earthquaker Speaker Cranker? I haven't used one myself but from what I heard it works good for adding a touch of overdrive and grit to the sound.

Way Huge Pork Loin seems like it'd be just right for this.

Fuzzrocious Dark Driving? I believe that with the trim pots, you can get a good low-gain sound.

Singing Tree and Devi's Karaoke Party were drives I've owned where I had to crank it to get the amount of distortion I wanted, so I imagine they'd be close to what you're looking for. Also McSpunckle's And Aardvarks had some great low gain options as well.

Fuck it, now that I think of it, And Aardvarks was super sexy for low gain, as long as you weren't driving your tubes too much with the output volume it wasn't too high gain.

I have no idea. I'm just hoping that with the power of the star people all will be made clear.
