I have been trying to find a vintage fuzz I like, and I have settled on a Tonebender clone to use with my baritone Dano. I love the angled front enclosure style for pedals but everywhere I look it seems that all the clones are normal square boring shape.

ALSO, if it isn't too much to ask....a pricetag under $150.
If it isn't under $150 it's okay, it's just preferred.

Talk to John Lyons or Ian Sherwen (Ghost) -- both those guys build great boxes and I've see them both use slope front boxes.

PigeonFX made some Tone Bender MkI wedge boxes, which are really good -- I have a jerms MkI in one.

Which tonebender version are you looking for?
Also do you want a folded or wedge slant enclosure?

He does some new twists on the MKI and MKIII versions.

Basic Audio also does a really flexible fuzz that's sorta like the MKII bender (but not really a clone) called the scarab deluxe.
He's done them in slanted enclosures before, I'm sure he'd do you one if you asked nicely.

They're both pretty affordable, and nice guys to boot. Oh and their pedals rock

The enclosure alone (as above) is going to cost you $50 or more by itself...
Deh Mojo aint cheap.

The goldie is a pigeon.
Both ghost and pigeon are UK based.

The pigeon will be more vintage-y, whereas ghost tries to do more of a modern take
(the low end heavy doombender MKI or the SoT MKI which is capable of both a MORE over the top raging fuzz and a subdued OD-like MKI fuzz sound via the extra knob)

Expensive mojo (although very good mojo) and UK based companies...damn. I know Fulltone has their version (Soulbender) and I found one in a angled box and it's running $200. Anyone have any experience with the Soulbender?

At that price, Ghost would be a better bet. And Ian will make you a vintage spec one if you ask reeeeeeeal nice.

Also, isn't the soulbender not an MKI?

Ghost's prices are really affordable, even for US folks.

It's the giant folded enclosure that will probably kill you.
The prism/wedge is a decent middle ground imo. They aren't that much more expensive than your average hammond, but still look cool as heck.

Soulbender is a MkIII
if you want a MkI, the Soulbender's not it.

I also doubt you'll find a MkI for $150 let alone one in a mojo enclosure.

EDIT: PigeonFX has some MkI clone kits -- you could snag one of those and an enclosure -- but you'd still need to hunt up some trannies.

i'm doing one at the moment for a chap in the EU in a wedge made to 1965 mk1 specs handmade by my friend, they are not as 'factory spot on' as Brooks but still very nice.
I DO have another but it's waiting to be powdercoated and i already have somebody pencilled in for it, after that who knows!
stock tone bender mk1, no mods, but NOT the original transistor combo, i charge £150 for a 1965 wedge build which I reckon is pretty reasonable all things considered.
recorded delivery to the USA is about £20 for these big heavy things!

I would highly recommend that you go with Ghost for this, ManOfMystery! I recently got his Buzzaround and it's amazing.

Does anyone around here among our fave builders use Pedal Enclosures? They have some nice wedge enclosures it seems.
