I want bass pedals that I can use just to make bass notes. I don't want a midi controller bass pedal. (Like Roland PK-5A)

Any suggestions?

Ya, Taurus is waaay outa my price range. The EKO ones are really cheap but I can never find them.

Yeah.. all the cool ones are going to be hard to find, you just have to be steadfast. I happened upon my Multivox MX-450 by chance... I was asked to help some one getting ready to sell stuff off about worth and such and there it was... guy wanted to give the thing to me... I had to make him take money for it

What's the problem with midi? Check out http://www.basyn.com or a PK-5 with a Roland SH-32?

Otherwise you're looking at $2 grand + for Taurus.

I don't see why a midi pedal set is so out of bounds if paired with a cool synh. If you plan to play standing up and are bipedal, a DSI Evolver or Mopho would be perfect in their monophonic glory. And I think the Keith McMillen 12 Step looks like a promising key controller if you want something a little different.

...with some luck You might run to something cheap in the eBay or Your local pawn shop. Some cheap ass brand form 70's like Farfisa organs for example. Doesn't sound like Moog exactly but at least the one I had did a perfectly okay background bass without frills. And running the cheapish stuff through EQ-OD-FX- can make up for what the original signal lacks.

But finding one for next to nothing is hardly something You can count on. And sometimes the eBay prices go up like a mofo on meth so, You know... a bass player might be cheaper and easier to find

On the other hand... You might just go for MIDI. That would be pretty easy. It can be relatively cheap, too. For example: Midi foot controller, a cheap used laptop that doesn't need to be used for much else but running freeware VTSi. Perhaps a mini mixer and cables.

You could try learning to play bass with yr toes.
