Do you ever feel cheesy?
I play it right (kinda noisy), but sometimes when I'm doing lead stuff...

You mean like hair metal lead toanz? Yeah. It's easy to just leave it on and unknowingly slip into that thing.
I use my DD-3 to make "krrrang" sounds (pseudo-filter matrix if you will) or The Kills-style self-oscillations a lot when playing lead though.

Delay -> Dirt

Yea, I usually leave it with feedback pretty high. Or I'll leave it in warp mode on the dd-20 to get those washes. But the only way it sounds cool is like a really short delay or long delay with dirt leads. From my experience.

I never really slip into that, but I'm too horrible of a player to try a whole lot of lead stuff.

Yea, I don't feel bad. I just find myself QUICKLY changing direction when I'm in that zone.

I get it, you have a "hey wait a minute, I'm not in skid row" moment

yeah, you just have to make sure your veer in a hurry when you approach "Lethal Weapon score" territory...
for an example of how to do this in a radd way, check out Moon Duo or Wooden Shjips.

I love dirt with delay, and normally avoid this because my only dirt is fuzz, but sometimes it happens anyway, and I JUST ROLL WITH IT and pretend I'm in Aerosmith for a couple of minutes. Then comes the shame.

I use it often, almost always, but, I steer in the wooden shjips/moon duo direction. I sometimes think I'm too nervous/bad of a player to play leads without delay on. I need to break myself of that.
