Hey guys,

So, my drummer left the band last night and she cemented it this morning in a rather heated way.

She is my sister, and while the story itself is long/complicated, and both sides were at fault... she has taken a few cheap shots that have really bothered me.

I know many of you have experienced similar type things in band situations.

I also know that in the long run, time heals all and we will be on speaking terms again, and my band will move on past this...

I just could use some encouragement and support, because I feel like "the bad guy" when I tried so hard to make everyone happy... especially being the bandleader and having to juggle everyone's schedules to make it work.

Oh man, band relationships are hard enough without adding family dynamics on top. You've got my sincerest sympathies. I don't know if I could be in a band with a family member. You've definitely got mojo thoughts from my direction. I hope things resolve on both fronts.

Time does heal all, and what matters most is space between all.

My honest sympathies. Whenever there's something really personal involved in band politics, it can leave a lasting mark.

siblings usually work things out tho. if she was your girlfriend or wife, then it gets really messy.

There's nothing more You can do in the situation but look for a new drummer. Meanwhile, keep jamming with the bass player. Try it, with a metronome or programmed drums, if it fits Your stuff. Or why not release an EP of material without drummer while You are looking for new Mr or Mrs Animal. Except next time the line up will better have TWO DRUMMERS! Who knows, one might explode during a show?

things were moving toward her leaving... with one final show... but this happened and things just got out of hand. guess i'm more upset about not giving the fans one last show with her... but i think we're better off now with what happened.

Trufax, they do it so they get more milk while nursing; I had a cat that would climb in bed next to and kneed your stomach for a minute before she fell asleep.
