YOSU. finally got a decent pc again. i have a pair of Motu 828 MK II firewire interfaces and a Digi 003. i'm going to put them all up on CL 'cause i just need a pair of decent smaller interfaces. one 4x4 and one 2x2 would be plenty.
whatcha all like? lots of vst's so i need them low latencies, but for the home one i'm going tobe only recording bass, and practice i don't think it'll ever be more than 4 inputs at a time. probably not even that many.
murrrr?
SCHOOL. ME.

soooooo.... looking around (and i can't remember who recommended it awhile ago, thanks!), the Apogee Duet looks pretty sexy. but maybe more than i need for the home iterface? that's going to be mostly ideas and video demo bullshit.

Duet is my go to interface. I love the thing.

hurm. is there a huge difference between the 1 and 2?
less money on CL/Used is always a good thing.

I have version 1. From looking.. they say they updated the pres and converters which is interesting [makes me want it for some reason even though I like the one i have], it's smaller, it's not textured so it isn't dusk magnet like 1 is, less connectors which you can look on as good or bad and is black.

innnnnterrrressssting. i don't care about looks that much, it's just for the house. might look for a V1 for home. do youhave a firewire or usb 'un? do you run vst's much? or mostly recording?' mics or direct?
QUESTIONS. I GOT THEM.
any thoughts on a 4x4/6x6? i've been looking at the Motu one with lust bubbles.

I run firewire. And use it with Logic for recording both mics and direct. It's just so quick and easy for me to deal with it. Also everything I listen to on my computer when not using cans goes though it. So I use it for almost everything I do on my own. The MOTU 6X6 looks neat but no I haven't put in enough time on looking at it to have a real opinion

sadly [or not] the only real way to find out what works for you is to... I think I've had 5 other interfaces / cards...
