MWFX introduction

Hi I'm Matt, a guitarist and pedal maker from Somerset, England. My company's called MWFX and been around for a couple of years. I started out as a guitarist, wanting to do new things with it - from making weird noises to just playing in an unorthodox style to create different sounds. This is why I got into fuzz and effects and why I wanna post here.

After playing in a few local bands (Psycadeliasmith, Gung Ho, This Pyrrhic Victory - not that you would have heard them!), with a kind of DIY ethic, I did my degree in Music Design and I've set up my business MWFX, which is selling 10+ different guitar pedal designs. The main selling point of the pedals are that they're unique effects that to the best of my knowledge aren't repeated on the market, oh and their housed in wood. There's hard sync effects, wave shaping fuzzes, pitch fx and a cool endless repeater/sampler/killswitch. Check 'em out for yourself at http://www.mwfx.co.uk

I hope that you'll find them cool or at least interesting, but they're not for everyone. Not trying to make mega bucks, just help out like minded guitarists. Working with Wire next week - exciting to say the least!

Right now we've just made a bunch of boosters from vintage tobacco tins which make great gifts. Hope you get chance to look and contact me with your thoughts and comments.

Matt

I love your stuff! I was looking at it for awhile, but couldn't find a retailer in the States so I stopped looking to avoid paying a lot for shipping. Your designs are beautiful and your fx are refreshing. Make some videos if ya ever get the chance! Welcome to the boards!

FYI, Copilot FX had you beat a wee bit on the pitch trem thing...although, they are both different beast. You are required as a new member/builder on this board to do a tourbox of your pedals...it's in the agreement, but who reads the 'User Terms' anymore?

Hey thanks for all the nice comments and warm welcome, I'll get going on the rundown of the pedals tomorrow, it's a bit late to start now. I've been doing worldwide delivery for £12 which is obviously not great when you could get a supplier in the US. There are three suppliers we're sorting out at the moment but right now I've been busy with individual orders and our Japanese distributor (we're big in japan).

Yeah it's a pity we got beaten to the pitch based tremolo, I really like the octave down effect that it creates at high rates, it's really clean and I never expected it to come out so strong. Hopefully they're not too similar to tread on Copilot's toes, you've got to admire the amount of effect they get into those boxes.

Hey, cool! Your stuff is rad. Hop on into the shark tank (a sub-forum of the buy/sell/trade forum) if you're gonna do that pedal rundown, that way, you'll be able to sell your jank and jawn and such.

Absolutely. I was tinkering around with how cool it'd sound to have the Auto Sync droning and put the Pitch Trem behind it and then fluctuate the pitch. Wonder what wild sounds would come out of that
