Ideas?

Okay so this is my first actual DIY, but I'm only 16 so... I'm starting easy. I basicly ripped apart my $120 Squier Bullet Strat and humbuckers (either from an Epi Les Paul or SG) where the middle and neck pickups were, changed some hardware to make it look better and did a little relic-ing.
now after some testing, and playing one show with it, the neck humbucker just sounded awful in every situation. So i ripped it out.
Soooooo what should i put in this hole? ( heh heh)
Ive already thought about putting a fuzz pedal in there but I have enough of those in front of me when I play as it is.
Any other ideas?

to be honest. if it was mine, I woud convert it to hardtail and put mexi strat tuners just to make it less shitty for the import that it is. you can tell from the photo the neck is sap wood and the body is laminate. DO NOT waste your money on electronics or paint. I know the feeling you get when you look at a project guitar, trust me I know. its just $$$$$$ and a sparkly crappy guitar when its done. they are good however for super experimental projects where the performance art piece is just disposable when your done getting everyones attention. you could then burn it in your next performance. the entertainment value to a performing artist far exceeds the possibility of a viable instrument in this case.

Get a new guard that is just a single coil at the bridge. Or rip out the bucker and use ducktape

Make the humbucker slide like in a grabber.

Fun Fact: no moving parts in that sliding thing in a Grabber. Just kinda moves on like a plate, back and forth, and is sorta pinned down by the pickguard. You could totally do that super easy to anything with a pickguard.

This is what I'll do if I ever get around to it. Just mount the pickup on a plastic plate, or a piece of pickguard or somethin' and have it be held down by the rest of the guard...
I could never find gutshots of a Grabber though and never got around to asking.
