Hey everybody, I'm super new to pedal building and just found about this seemingly awesome forum! I purchased some kits from Devi Ever and have been trying to build some rad stuff. Hopefully some of you are familiar with these pedals. Anyway I built a twin pedal using the pl circuit board. I loaded it with a million switches so i could have the option of each side being a pl 05 or 25, a db, or a sc. I put the whole thing together and was shocked to discover that most of it worked! The only problem I'm having is with the control knobs. They seem to function just as a volume knob but they don't completely cut off the whole sound. The way I have the knob wired is from the foot switch to lug 1, lug 2 to the in on the board and lug 3 has a 1k resistor that goes to lug 3 on the volume knob that goes to the ground on the volume knob. Any idea what I'm doing wrong? Thanks everyone! I really do love fuzz!

are you saying that the control knob is only affecting volume--not actually affecting control? Or are you saying that they work as intended, but just don't cut off?

I think he is saying that the pedal does not go down to dead silence. probably the 1k resistor she puts between the volume pots and ground. this is to make the range of the knob more usable in the real world. no one plays the dead silent guitar on stage. jumpering both sides of the 1k resitor that is on the vol pot with a wire will make it go down to zero. I would leave it though.

The volume knobs work properly, right? If so, it's just that the control knobs have that 1K resistor to keep them from turning all the way down. If you'd prefer for them to go all the way down, you can replace the resistor with a wire.
