I've been looking for an affordable solid state bass amp, have mostly been keeping an eye out for an old Sunn or Acoustic... An Ampeg SVT70T combo popped up on local CL... 75 watts into 8, 125 into 4, 15" speaker combo, old enough to be USA made. Has a lot of EQ options.

Ampeg SVT-70T 70 watt bass combo amp (15" speaker). You can see the controls in the pics. It has:
Hi/Lo Inputs
Gain
The tone and Master knobs pull out for additional settings as follows:
Low/Ultra Low
Low Mid/Shift
High Mid/Shift
High/Ultra High
Master/Limit

Also has:
Line In
Line Out
Line Out Level knob (knob broke off but can still be turned if you ever use the Line Out, which for me was never)

Are these old solid state Ampegs good amps? Do they take fuzz pedals well?

Add: this is the ad on local CL: http://wausau.craigslist.org/msg/2651475389.html

Ampeg has always treated me well, 8/10 I think your going to be happy with what they make.

I user to have an old Ampeg ss combo from the 70's with the faux fur on the cab and it was quite the monster.

Looks like this was made in 1987, then from 1988-1992 the same circuit was called the B-15T with a different speaker...

The Ampeg SS stuff is good for bedroom level playing, for sure.

Taking fuzz pedals well is super subjective, so I can't say one way or another (I've never found an SS head that took to fuzz the way I like, but I know people like warwick.hoy have).
