just an idea:
how about a small contest of the "ilf pedalboard 2011"?

i thought about user recommandations of boards that were original posted in one of the most awesome threads on the board in the year 2011starting with this post: viewtopic.php?f=149&t=393&start=3435#p186091 and going through all 2011. At the end we should vote about the posted recommandations. Any thoughts about that?

I fully support this idea, I love gazing at the ILF pedalboard thread! It's inspired so many excellent purchases.

Would board categories be involved (small, med, large, monster, bass, noise, etc, etc) or is that just too complicated? Must complete board ASAP, just waiting on the Compact Faye Sing god dammit! Been a long time coming, that one.

I don't think we should have that many categories since we're a much smaller community than HC. Maybe small, medium, large and ILF-centric?

probably these:
small and sexy
big and heavy
more awesome/less suck
snakes, ladders, airplanes aka noise
(fuck medium boards )

or just three :
board
haul (table of pedals magiclawnchair)
noise

i just like the idea, that we recommend boards instead of just everybody bumping in with the own one...

I'm down for like 4 categories:
Small board (1-8 pedals, single power supply)
Large board (9+ pedals, multiple power supplies)
Noise Board (come on who has a "small" noise board...)
Flashiest Board (Whose board is the most eye candied, not on rarity or value of pedals but the visual connection between all of them like the halloween board...)

Very cool. I like this quite a bit.

Having people submit other people's board is nifty. Having a few categories is cool, maybe 3 or 4, wouldn't need too many different ones. While we're at it, maybe do one for guitars and amps too?

That board makes me sad, it deserves a posthumous award.

I think this idea is awesome, especially not nominating yourself (except that means I probably won't be nominated, oh well, it'll keep people from gratuitously nominating themselves).

Yeah, why not, there's some INSANE COOL pedalboards in the ILF pedalboard thread.

Let's not have too many categories, so it doesn't get too complicated or serious. Howabout a set of categories we can come up with, categories that can change every year - THAT'd be cool.

- cool old skool toanz - vintage and remakes with a lavor
- modern oscillating, noisy, psychedelic nasties - a rad, modern version of the above pedalboard
- pedalboard that is a noise instrument of its own
- plain fuzz overload - boards that concentrate on what we love, forget the reverbs and shit
- pimped to the max - very flashy and artistic looking beauties
- most ILFested pedalboard

etc what ever we come up with...

This is a great Idea, I now have an excuse to mindlessly scan all the board pics again.

And to the winner.........a pedal they won't need because they already have the best board?

How about "DIY-est board" as a category?

What about Christmas? Should we cut off before new years day?
I like the small, large, noise, aesthetically pleasing categories.
