Tusk fuzz?

Who's got a Tusk?
Always been intrigued by this one, and there's very little info/samples out there...traditionally more of a muff guy than a rat guy, would it fit into a downtuned sludge/stoner rig?
Any input welcomed... :hello:

Thanks for the vid link, that's the only one I've found.
MaggotBrainNY was super helpful...not that I needed too much encouragement to pull the trigger on rare EQD.
Should have it by the end of the week, will report back soon...

I feel like I'd be spamming if I did, but would you guys find it helpful for me to post a couple of my band's demo recordings where I used the Tusk? We do metal/crust/doom sorta nonsense.

Tusk arrived this past week...
Just a beautifully voiced fuzz. Seems fairly straightforward, but the character of the fuzz really develops as you open it up. The EQD descriptions are spot-on; even wide open, the fuzz manages to stay articulate with a strong emphasis in the upper midrange, manages to give both good clarity and crunch. Not a high-gain monster, but becomes CRUSHING when stacked with my other EQD...I tried it with Hoof and Monarch... :!!!:
Yet to try it in a band context, next on my task list...

They have a few samples at:

Looks like they still have some in stock too.

Yup...compared to other retailers, their shipping seemed steep to me, and their return policy is pretty unforgiving...but looks they may be the only game in town if you wants one. And they do have samples.

I've had one of these for a couple of years. Recently, I got hold of a '75 script logo MXR Distortion+. They sound very much alike. The tusk gets a bit fuzzier. It's brighter sounding than most other fuzzes (as is the Dist+) so it's a bit much with a bright amp (e.g. silverface Fender), but with a darker amp it's great. Not unlike a tonebender at high fuzz settings.

Absolutely. It's been great for some sharpening up some of my other pedals as well, adds a really nice crunch to the Hoof
