The Musket's got enough tweakability that it's totally worth having two and setting them completely differently. Is it just me or does everyone think Muff variants stack into each other really well?

i dunno. personally i probably wouldn't have two of the same exact box, but that's more due to cost and space considerations than anything else. i see the utility, but unless i need both settings in one song $150 or so is an awful lot of money not to have to reset the knobs. i can see the charm of having multiple similar boxes based on the same/similar circuit(s); i would like to have two Tone Benders so i could use one for the Mick Ronson overdrivey thing and the saxophonish overtones a half-up Bender does so well and one for the full-on bzzzzzzzz. not being a fan of the Muff circuits, i don't know enough to say if the Musket, SC, and Pharoah are based on different Muff versions, which would also make them less redundant.

I think they're both tweaked enough that they're too far removed from the originals to care what they're based on. And Russian and Civil War are close enough, anyway. Having two Muskets is definitely a bit of an indulgence but there are so many knobs and I hate to try to refind settings I like.

You need to get a little notebook to write down all your settings in.

Personally, I'm all for it - I love running my Gnomeratron Mini into my Gnomeratron VTF, which could be said to be a similar approach. If I had a Baby Thundaa, the first thing I'd try would be running it into my Eau Claire Thunder. And I've often thought about picking up a second Sea Machine, so I could chorus my chorus.
I have a Pharaoh, a Blunderbuss, a Bluebeard Fuzz and two Jordan Creators. (I think that's all of my muff-y stuff. IDK. Can't remember.) I don't usually run more than one of 'em at a time, but the Bluebeard into the Pharaoh sounds like massively huge earth-shaking doom-y sex.
