Jeff Ament? I remember when Pearl Jam did MTV Unplugged he took some flack for playing an electric bass on Jeremy. Yeah, well it was the Hamer 12 string, which is such the signature sound of the song.
I have to imagine that thing is so stiffly built as to be practically inert.

Dude really you ask why Can you not fathom the awesomeness?But.... What I want to know is who made it, how is it braced, are those steel core stings, how loud is it, ect. In less those are nylon core strings or super light that thing has to be overbuilt as fuck, I've seen Hamer 12 string solid bodies where the strings had started to pull the bridge off the bass.

from the look of it that thing's made of carbon-fiber laminate; it's probably got graphite rods reinforcing the neck. which is to say it's going to be as expensive as an F1 race car.
