i'll bite.
the professional tech in me says "fuk yea"... everything he says makes perfect sense, especially to a person like david gilmore.
the punk rock guitar player in me says....who cares?....some pedals, a piece of wood, a power supply and a loud amp is all i need.
bradshaw, mills, cornish, freidman et al...all make fabulous switching systems that do exactly what they are supposed to do.
however a forum that freaks out over GFS pickups because they are good and cheap will give this no love.

Yeah... I'll surely have to pay attention to my toanz running through too many bypassed pedals... .

NOT!
I don't care how I sound because there is so much pedal-fuckery going on with my signal that it "sounds like shit" anyways... pfff who needs clean toanz when you can haz fuzzzzzzz!

who has a 10 m² pedalboard and plays clean...

Agree with masked elwood. I don't doubt that his stuff sounds great, is well made and really nice to use, but if you're not playing lots of massive shows/session work where you need to be quick about things and always get exactly the same results, doing really complicated switching stuff while trying to sing or whatever, I don't see the point.
The idea behind the things isn't bullshit at all, but I don't see it as necessary.

Different tools for different jobs.
I'm sure the Edge needs one to function ,and good luck to him. David Gilmour too.
But total overkill for most of us.
Still cool though.
I'm sure a bunch of the TGP bedroom/church players will buy these too.

If I had money to burn, sure. But I'm still thinking about getting a cheap ass Artec power supply.

If I would have the money for such a thing, I would rather spend it on more pedals guitars and amps, unless I am a professional musician by then..

Yeah, that system looks MUCH more simple than a traditional pedalboard with a few pedals... Seriously though, the part that got me was when he dismissively said "trying to match the pedal made by some guy in his garage with a soldering iron that is supposed to be the greatest thing" or some such. I will take an EQD, Fuzzhugger, Moody Sounds, etc. pedal over a mass produced pedal any day. I'm sure for the pro who plays stadiums and has a rehersed show, this switching system is a godsend, but my true bypass pedals on my homemade board suit me just fine.

I need one of these for my living room folk music setup...

On the real though, if I was a pro and played out 6 nights a week in stadiums and had techs and whatnot, HELL YES. Stuff like this seems indispensable as has been said.

Stepping on the pedals is part of the fun though. If I can't step on pedals then I feel a bit ripped, even if i'm still hearing the pedals that I paid for.
I like working for the sound that I want, not just press a single button and have my tone completely change.

It's still too much work. I'll be interested when they start making mini-me's that change your settings by you sending them telepathic signals.

overkill for sure. however, something like this might not be so bad if you have a lot of stacked overdrive, fuzz sounds you want to switch between and still have your delays etc. after it.

they're under 300 bucks too. I could totally get down with something like this.
