One popped up on CL for $400, the reverb isn't working but I think I could probably fix it. Any reason I should stay away from this amp?
My first tube amp was a 212 Deville, and I really enjoyed it and only sold it to try and get something more "unique"

. Been trying a bunch of amps and I'm thinking about coming full circle...

I think all the hot rods sound really harsh.
I think yo'd be better of getting any fender reissue second hand (or real thing!) like a 65 twin RI, any of those 59 bassman RI's (which kill for any noisy rock) etc. Just not a hotrod!
Lets the flames roll!

Hey Tuff, I too inhabit the downunderverse. Krazy!

The reverb is probably not recoverable. The usual problem with the tanks I encountered and was told the component that went out can't be replaced. Just 35 bucks for a replacement isn't bad though.
I'd nab it for sure!

I love my 212, so i dont see why a 410 wouldnt be worth it.
It could be a minor reverb fix too, like the little plastic connectors or the wires attached to em breaking. Either way I'd say worth it.

4x10 devilles are TITAYZ
if it's harsh'n your vibez put two darker 10"s in it and have a mix of bright cutting power and middy goodness. that's what everyone I've know who didn't like the highs did. works out great. you can just tell the sound guy to mic it up to one of the darker speakers and you're golden in a live setting.

I like the harshness of the Hot Rods

Also, I haven't seen any Twin Reverbs sell around here for less than $700 and I am in Washington...

I did a bit more research, and saw the gutshots and I'm not sure I like what I see. The whole amp just doesn't look very serviceable.
