From full-size to mini humbucker - will it fit?

Edited for confusion.

Thinking of changing pickups in my Epiphone Les Paul Classic. I want to put a mini humbucker in the bridge (GFS Mini Bird, their Firebird-style one). It says on the GFS site: "These all use the typical Firebird style case- which is 2 5/8" x 1 1/8"." My humbucker is exactly 2 5/8". So it can't possibly be too big for the rout, no? The problem is then the pickup ring. Could I just mount it on the existing plastic pickup ring the same way the full-size humbucker is mounted? I understand it's not as wide so there'll be a gap on each side but will it mount okay since it's the same length?

Thanks a lot for any help!

I managed to find a picture of a mini and a full-size HB on the same guitar and it looked like the mini was maybe one mm longer, but the pic was taken at an angle. Worst case scenario I'll have to make (or have my friend who does metal work make) some new pickup rings, and file a millimeter or so off on each side of the cavity. Should be fine, if anyone knows that would be awesome though so I know what to expect.

Google can help!

They make pickup rings just for this.

Aah! Never thought to type "pickup ring" in the search bar for some reason, thanks!

Nobody seems to ship the damned things outside America for less than $30 though
...$30 shipping on $7 item

Gonna order pickups and stuff, not the ring. I'll make my own damned ring if it's fucking $37 for a one-ply piece of plastic
