Guitar Fetish is having a "Pre-Christmas Warehouse Clearance," i.e. a ridiculous sale on their jazzmaster copies. I can't bring myself to pull the trigger, 'cause I suck at guitar too much to justify having two, but yeah. http://www.guitarfetish.com/Jays-CRAZY- ... c_185.html

The ILF zeitgeist could not design a more ILF guitar if it tried.

Wish they'd sell half of these without the necks, can't really justify amount of the thing that I'd be throwing in the parts/trash bin on most of them (neck, tuners, some of the hardware, pots, wiring, possibly pickups, possibly bridge/trem).

I love the colors, I love some of the options, but I can't stand dirt cheap $200ish+ crapshoots.

So I take it these are not so good? I've never played one.

I've only handled two, a Tele and one of the Jazzthings. Hardware felt cheap, necks just didn't feel great, and fretwork/setup was awful. They look *really* nice, all the $$ went into looking nice.

Didn't plug either in, but wasn't really inspired to.

I'm sure there are probably some real diamonds in the rough; the level of QC led me to believe that it was a pretty much crapshoot as to what you'd get, a throwback to the 80s offbrand imports where you might find the one and only Lotus produced that year that was worth a damn, if you looked hard enough.

In general, yeah, they'll all need some setup work, and there's the occasional report of bad fretwork. Hit or miss like Rondo. For a po' man's guitar, though, they're not bad, probably no worse than most Squiers or Epiphone. Elwood got one of the Jazzmaster clones and liked it: viewtopic.php?f=149&t=14934&start=324
