I put the loop side on my pedals so when I take them off the board they don't stick to everything.

For the record:

Hard side is hook
Soft side is loop

Same

What's the soft side? That one goes on pedals.

Then the hard side on the board. because otherwise my board would get fucking filthy with the amount of crap the soft stuff would pick up over time.

That's probably the best way to do it. I use the hook side on pedals though because I went through so much velcro before making my board that all I had left was the loop side to throw on it.
So now whenever I get a pedal with loops, I have to remove it and put the hooks on...it doesn't seem to be as common though.

But it's not really a big deal since I just turn them upside down or put 'em on something when I'm moving them around.

^ bingo. I find that hook side picks up crap faster than loopy side.

I go hook, but it has to do with the board not the pedals. Enough random crap(usually off my shoes or something) sticks to my board already. I cant imagine what a large surface of hook velcro sitting on the floor getting stepped on would attract.

Oh, and the board I have was just made that way. It really wasn't a conscious decision.

loop side covers the board; hook side gets applied to the pedals. i live in a "semi-rural" area and have three cats, and if i used the hook side on the board my board would look like the floor at a homeless shelter.

I used the hook side on my pedals when I made my board, but I totally regret it because it makes putting them on a carpet floor (which I have to do a lot switching stuff around) a friggin ballache.

I use the soft side on my board, hook on the pedals.

Just use a lint roller, it works beautifully on velcro, only problem is you gotta take yer pedals off yer board

I've vacuumed loop side velcro before There's only one spot on my board that gets changed out. Any pedals I have that aren't usually on board, get tape over the velcro so it doesn't stick to anything (carpet/hair).

I've always thought it would make more sense to put the loop side on the pedals so that if you take them off your board they don't scratch the floors and stuff. Actually, why I would be playing with pedals off a board and on a nice hardwood floor, I don't really know, but that's been my logic. In reality, I put the hook side on the bottoms of pedals because that's what every pedal I've ever bought has come with, and my pedalboard came with loop side pre-applied. But still, every time I put velcro on a new pedal, I feel a little bit sorry for those poor wooden floors, none of which exist in my residence. Sometimes I'm a little crazy.

I don't really use the loop side anymore I put outdoor carped on my boards and like the way it holds up.

I don't mind if pedals stick to carpet when they are off the board because it lets you do arranging and planning without them sliding around.
