i think the general concensus would be that Basic Audio ROCKS!
Johns a really nice guy who has helped me out loads in the past and seems to be some kind of wiring cyborg!

Absolutely no offense to the OP, but I find it kinda crazy that the question even has to be asked anymore. To Basic Audio, or not to Basic Audio, that is not the question--your only question should be which one--and John himself will be a great help to you in deciding; he's definitely among the very most approachable and informative builders out there.
Also, I can now say from first-hand experience--in addition to being some of the most entertaining demos around, his are very true to both the character and range of tones produced by the pedals.
Also listen to Ian!

Or Ghost Effects will come for you in the niiiight.

+1 for lovers of that BA sound! I have a Spooky Tooth, a Wildcat and a Scarab. They all kill at will. Great fuzzes one and all. They really suit my playing style and sound great with my gear.

yeah. i'm SUPER stoked about the Squarewavers. and his video's are AWESOME.
quick piggy back question (YOU'RE MY HUMAN MULE OP), anybody use any of his stuff with the bass? i suck horrifically at guitar, just stay in Thick String Land. John IS super easy to talk to, very cool that he's adding a blend to the Orange Square Machine too.
............. did i mention i'm really, REALLY escited?

Garsh, thanks folks. You really know how to make a guy blush.

Ben
It really depends on what you're going for. Tight distortion bass
or something over the top and sloppy. Mids, fuzz, gravely...insert
your adjective. As you know, the blend is your friend.
Straight up stock I'd say the Futureman is bass friendly as is the
tri/Ram, more so the triangle side of it due to it's bassier nature.
The Squarewave sounds good with bass as well, Even better with a
blend circuit to bring in some of the low end

.
Dan has an alternate "used cars" version of the tourbox now
so he'll have some insight...
Ahywho, thanks for the kind words and support chaps.
