Halp! Grounding issue in FUZZ?!

So I got a Silicon fuzz face recently that has a DPDT switch for the bypass. I wanted to paint it, so I took everything out and painted it and put it back in. The problem is that it passes a signal just fine, but when I press the switch I get a LOUD grounding hum thing going on. When I put the footswitch back, there was a coil thing on the bottom, and one on the top with the white washer. When I put the pedal back together, I didn't use the coil on the switch. Could this be the issue? Should I look at anything else?
I checked and double checked to make sure nothing was broken or out of place...

So the bypass is fine, but you get a loud hum when you engage the fuzz?
Sounds like the effect-circuit isn't grounded... I had the problem once when I forgot to solder the ground wire of my pcb to the ground on the input/output jack... In old EHX/Sovtek pedals (Black Russian Muff for example) the circuit ground is connected to the enclosure ground with a cable that is screwed to one of the screws of the rubber feet of the pedal with a washer... idk how it is done in the fuzzface but you might want to check if everything is screwed in like it should..
also- you painted it.. so maybe the input/output jacks don't make good contact with the enclosure anymore? You might wanna check that.

could be that or your circuit input is not connected to anything at all.
