this will go nicely with my classic vibe duo sonic. i really like the new squiers, they are high quality for low dough. anyone know the price on this one?

I think I will sell my jaguar, buy this, and upgrade it to the point of no return in butterscotch blonde.

still not crazy about the basswood body, which i think was the downfall of the sparkly Fender J. model, but am definitely hot to test one out. it's probably the only way i'm ever getting into a JM considering their general cost and the likelihood that it'd be a second-string instrument for me.

This is definitely the first Squier i've even taken the time to take a second glance at, but it's not really offering much different from the Fender Mascis. I do have the purple jobby, so I can't really justify purchasing one. I know what dubkitty means by the basswood concerns. It's not my fav either. I have to say that the Fender edition does feel incredibly well built, but I just don't like the shoulder weight that the basswood carries. For the price, it's a bargain for what you're getting. Still, I think I'll just save another 50 bucks and by a Timeline instead.

huh?
basswood isn't a heavy wood and is comparable to alder in it's sound. in fact, all the basswood i've dealt with has been lighter in weight than alder.
Ash on the other hand is a heavy wood and brings on a tighter, brighter sound than alder or basswood (which provide the mellower tones). of coarse in nature things vary.......

i do not really care what kind of wood it is as long as the guitar as a whole sounds decent with very good attack.

Sorry guys, I don't think there will be a BSB version. When I checked last night they said there would be but, I just checked again and it's gone so, I think that might have just been another case of the Squier web designers being shit.
