Did someone screw into their power plug? Is that what I'm looking at?

Yes, the screw holding on the rubble foot goes right into the hot lead of the power cord.

As much as it's hilarious, it's tooootally something I'm dumb enough to do.

Oh, the things I've seen. Mice, bees, orange juice. I'll make sure I post a few now and then.

Yeah, I've made enough "small" repairs that ended badly to learn my lesson. Let an experienced professional handle such repairs, then if it gets fucked up it's not on me.

I'm getting braver and attempting basic maintenance shit, but this is the type of mistake that'll just crush the ol' confidence.

This reminds me of when I tried to "fix" a beat old Crate guitar head.
...I was able to salvage the reverb tank from it, anyway

Yeah this would set you back mentally for a bit.
Is that even a machine screw? Did they just toss drywall screws into the amp?

And what's the deal with the insulation?

Both legitmate electronic problems

Reminds me of a time I tried to flush my own radiator, ended up dropping my car off at my mechanic, he called an hour later said I was missing a radiator, I laughed and then told him it was in the trunk.
I still hear about that from time to time

Yeah, that can't be the original screw which makes this mistake extra dumb. I don't think I'd have messed it up this severely but who knows.

@FullCustom- love that avatar, was that sub given the custom treatment by you? Keep these pics coming, please. I love seeing this stuff as long as me or my gear are not involved!
