"Throbby" Tremolo

Based on the Schaller Tremolo circuit.
Ranges from a choppy square wave stutter to an fender amp type sine wave tremolo.
The Depth settings also change the waveform. The faster speeds and high depths
produce a squarer wave. A toggle switch changes the speed range.


Squarewave+ FuZz

Based on the Univox square wave. I repaired Ed Koppel's original a couple years ago
and liked the way it sounded but thought it could be more. The original sounds cool as a nasty fuzz
but that's about it. The tone control was pretty meh so I scraped it. I added variable clipping and
gain as well as a fuzz knob and a clipping toggle switch to take the diodes out of the circuit altogether.
By itself the transistors distort nicely and the pedal cleans up very well. I was amazed how much
nice overdrive I could get from the circuit and then dial it up to a fat distortion and even further to a raging
fuzz beast. There are two sets of diodes selectable with the toggle switch, and then "off" which
disables the diodes and clamp knob altogether.
So all in all you can get a LOUD lightly distorted boost all the way up a sizzly spitting paint peeling fuzz.
I'm selling them for $160 shipped.

Hey John - I had a guitarist friend ask me recently about Roland Bee-Baas, and who makes clones of 'em. I know a couple of folks who do, but wasn't sure if you did (or would). Is that a circuit you've worked with before?

Yes in fact I do make them. I make one with a variable mid scoop
instead of the switch (which is all or nothing, on/off midrange)
I''ve also been fooling with a tweak to make it fat or cutting, also variable
with a knob. This way yuou can get fat sloppy bee baa fuzz or a fuzz with
a faster attach and better definition (and everything in between)to shape
your sound depending on the amp/guitar/music genre etc. etc.
