Looks like Emperor are pretty close to releasing their amps. I've tried an earlier version of the 17W, which sounded fantastic. The JTM Bassman thing sounds cool as fuck!

Having successfully cashed in on a wave of interest in old gear heralded by a handful of borderline-incestuous niche genres, we've now researched the supply and demand for old tube amps as determined by everyone who thinks doom is all in the gear and decided to make clones of the most fashionable shit in the scene. Also, the Sunn Model-T is a fine amplifier. I enjoy it's loveliness.The original 70's one? $600 or some pleasant, reasonable shit before they became Dumble for Neurosis/Earth wannabe's. That displeased me.

You're new here huh? I'd have to say these builders aren't really boutique in the normal sense...and most the builders are original. I do agree with you that most builders are cloning old stuff that is marked up, however, not so much here. I also think you may be taking thing personal on account of your rig.

Regardless of true design originality, why complain about an abundance of options to explore? Original or tweaked variations, who fucking cares if shit sounds good, is priced fair, and readily available?

He's completely right about them driving the prices sky high I know so many people that picked up original model T's before eBay and cloners for 300 bucks. He's also right in the fact that doom heads are obsessed with certain gear I'm one of them but every genre has their gear heads.

I do agree that the builders on here are original also. That's why I came here to talk about pedals.
