Any loves or hates for this guy and his work so far? I'm listening to lots of Big Black right now. Such an intense band

An opinionated douche who happens to be one of my favorite musicians/engineers. I'd never want to be friends with him or anything, but I'll pirate buy all his albums.

I enjoy his bands a whole lot, and he's easily in my top 5 engineers of all time.

Try to find a drum sound on one of his engineering sessions that sucks. Just try.

In Utero's drum sound kinda sucks. But I adore the rest of his work. Especially Shellac.

Compared to his stuff with Shellac, theavondon speaks the truth.

Compared to other Albini records, ok, I could buy that. Compared to any other major label record in the early 90's that Albini didn't touch?

Like, say, Nevermind?

When you have Dave on the set, and you can barely hear the snare? REALLY? THE WORLDS MOST OVERPOWERING DRUMMER CAN'T HIT THE SNARE HARD ENOUGH? Whereas, every Jesus Lizard album is filled with snare?
