JC-120 biamping and the Noise Supressor

Okay, prefacing stuff: I use both inputs of my JC-120 via an ABY box.
Channel A: Space Station > Holy Stain > Noise Supressor
Channel B: Hoof > DOD FX 90

The Space Station and the Holy Stain both make some noise, the majority of which is toned way down by the NS-2. But, as fuzz pedals will do, the gain of the Hoof in Channel B makes for some serious line noise as well. But I don't wanna shell out for another NS-2, so I had a thought-- could I just run the NS-2 in the effects loop via the JC-120's back panel? Would that affect both channels?

Thanks in advance!

Running the NS-2 post effects loop might do that.

In other words, I think it would hit both channels, since the effects loop slots in to the signal between the preamp and the power amp, but I'm not sure it'd be wise to throw a noise suppressor in there.

Again, I'm not going to act like I'm some kind of expert here. I don't know.

But, generally speaking, whether an effect will work well in the loop depends on whether the effect and the loop are able to run at the same signal level. If you have a line-level loop and an instrument-level effect, or vice-versa, it will sound like a whole bag of suck due to noise and/or unwanted clipping... which is exactly what you're trying to avoid.

How noise suppressors in general (and the NS-2) in particular sound in the JC-120 FX loop is knowledge I don't possess.

I appreciate your input regardless! I guess I'll have to see for myself when I get home tonight. This thread reveals that the "X pattern" of using both the in/out and send/return function of the NS-2 can bode for good results: http://www.sevenstring.org/forum/gear-e ... chain.html

Oh man, what a weird thread.

They're all helpful.

It's like Pleasantville.
