COOOOOOOOOOL. I played the actual J. Mascis JM at Elderly and it sounded reeeeealllly good. I've always wanted a Jazzmaster, but didn't want to shell out the shit for it. Maybe I'll pick up one of these titters.

I hear it's only gonna run $400 or so in the US, great deal if that's accurate, I wouldn't feel terrible about dumping a little extra $$ into it.
I hate the updated Trem position on the JMs though and it looks like they used it. The original Purple Mascis I owned had the standard AVRI placement I prefer as long as the setup is solid. No trem lock seems stupid too, weird way to cut costs. Either way, I'm sure some upgrades would get it up to speed real quick.

FUCK YES FUCK FUCK YES
that could be the main thing i'd invest in next year

if it's reasonably priced in EU...
it's not easy to get a good looking JM in here... or A JM when we're at it...
edit: god fucking damn 391€... thats uncanny

throw a maple neck along with an upgrade on the hardware and i'd very happy with it. i like the trem position closer to the bridge but i'm not a purest when it comes to JM's...it makes sense to move it a little closer to help with the string tension going over the bridge. i bet that little bit forward helps with string popping out...of coarse, i'm not a JM guy so what do i know?

This thing would've been perfect with a maple fretboard. Still as it is it will make for a decent birthday present.
